This site has been very helpful, when I have a question on how to do something in another language.
I highly recommend.

Thanks for remembering of OneSignal and their position in the general settings.
Now I have had a look in the site of it and can understand what the future will bring.

Means some day the wikidot team will bring it on our attention.

Sorry for the delay. As the translate wikidot is free for the contribution of any user we do not require rigid guidelines if the translation validly matches the original content.

Discussions can be created so that you can discuss or propose changes, but you don't have to create one before you submit your translation. If you feel safe about the changes you can apply them.

New translations/ or corrections in existing translations are accepted without problems, just keep in mind to place it consistently among the whole translation.

For translators, some of these things are made clearer here:
http://translate.wikidot.com/for-translators

I've done the translations in question. There are some translations that I think are wrong or could be expressed better, but there is no guide, advice or ruleset on how translations are to be made or to be corrected.

Should translators propose their changes on the forum first?
Should corrections be proposed?
Or just change things anyway?

And is there a chance to see where a phrase is used, in an overview or in the code of each respective page?

It's remarkable that your concerns are definitely correct. The information received from the translation pages may conflict due to the lack of what each aspect indicates to be, or to which it will be used.

Therefore, this establishes and imposes the direct obligation so that translators can adapt in the best way in their respective languages.

For example: If a sentence has major trends for the English language and the translation breaks the meaning of the phrase, you can keep one or more words that are important to the reader's understanding.

In admin panel, under General Settings there is new function, OneSignal (but only for Pro Plus users). I guess new phrases can be found there.

My problem is: there is under http://translate.wikidot.com/notifier:_template the new changes marked since 2.Jan.,2018 ( a,e,o,p ) , and in my german language templates there were the changes done (
BUT where in Wikidot are this new phrases used?
How can I make a good translation, when I do not know where amd how the phrases are used?
a: App id:
e: E.g. XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX - what and where is this used?
o: OneSignal - what is this ?
p: Push notifications configuration. - what is this?

I am proud to say that finally, even after so long all available translations are already in progress. If you can contribute to your native language or you have a domain, help us to enrich this site more and more with the adhesion of other languages.

That is a very good message!
I have not mentioned any changes … and the Portuguese(Brazil) translation is 100% finished!

Thanks to Fox for completing this!

I wanted to show you "where" they are … - … and I could not find it!
It is interesting - the drafts was implemented very late in time - copuld be they< are not (yet) in the string database?
Edit: Only "Save Draft" exists…
Question for the developers!

Can't find strings "Draft Exists", "You have saved draft. Select one option", "Cancel and Delete Draft", "Cancel and Leave Draft".

Typo in the Original ENGLISH Wikidot text !

U Category:

User %s reported user of your site whith used ip %s

If I think correct ( I translated most german part) and you want to translate all the buttons and text from wikidot english to "spanish" then:
1) go to the home page of the translate wiki: http://translate.wikidot.com/ and get membership…
2) read on the http://translate.wikidot.com/for-translators Instruction for translators how to do it
3) go to the stats screen: http://translate.wikidot.com/stats ( also the link on the home page left menu) and you will see:
3.1.) the "es" is the language code for spanish - standard and there are > 79% translated now.
3.2) iff you need more info what is missing scroll down until you see the columns of "es" with the misssing phrases of the single (starting) characters.
3.2.) if you need some extra translations differing from "es -spanish" than you should introduce a new category "es-st" for spanish-standard ( or what ever you believe is neccessary to differentiate your language from the rest of spain..
and than you click on the letters of the lang;es catgory and transöate the left phrases from english to spain on the right - where it is missing.

If you have questions - ask here or in the community-forum and I think there are lots of people who are willing and able to help!

Re: Manual translations? by Helmut_pdorfHelmut_pdorf, 21 Sep 2014 11:54

Hi! I'm new to the Wikidot site translation game, I want to manually translate my site into Standard Spanish (at least, the variant spoken in North and Central America), but I don't know how to do it. Not yet, anyway. Could someone please show me the ropes?

Thanks!

Copied here for better / correct place?

Not sure if this is the correct place for such error messaging:
After getting errors in my german translation on the https://www.wikidot.com/account/settings#/api I
cleared out all the field content in german - and the API key was perfekt again.

Now;
I have copied the english part of the 3. field in http://translate.wikidot.com/r:de
Code:

<div class="form-horizontal"> <div class="form-group"> <label class="col-sm-2 control-label">Read-only</label> <div class="col-sm-10"> <div class="input-group"> <span class="input-group-addon" id="apikey_ro" style="font-family: monospace;">%1</span> <div class="input-group-btn"> <a href="javascript:;" onclick="%2" class="btn btn-primary">regenerate</a> </div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="form-group"> <label class="col-sm-2 control-label">Read-write</label> <div class="col-sm-10"> <div class="input-group"> <span class="input-group-addon" id="apikey_rw" style="font-family: monospace;">%3</span> <div class="input-group-btn"> <a href="javascript:;" onclick="%4" class="btn btn-primary">regenerate</a> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div>

and I get Errors on my (german) https://www.wikidot.com/account/settings#/api again:

Output:

<div class="form-horizontal"> <div class="form-group"> <label class="col-sm-2 control-label">Read-only</label> <div class="col-sm-10"> <div class="input-group"> <span class="input-group-addon" id="apikey_ro" style="font-family: monospace;">r7PKNf74hKntwAgRJWsHtYPPybmBRjCl</span> <div class="input-group-btn"> <a href="javascript:;" onclick="WIKIDOT.modules.DSApiModule.regenerateKey('r')" class="btn btn-primary">regenerate</a> </div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="form-group"> <label class="col-sm-2 control-label">Read-write</label> <div class="col-sm-10"> <div class="input-group"> <span class="input-group-addon" id="apikey_rw" style="font-family: monospace;">wIfliAv1MzImb5H2WoSS5J9j6QGAYa8j</span> <div class="input-group-btn"> <a href="javascript:;" onclick="WIKIDOT.modules.DSApiModule.regenerateKey('w')" class="btn btn-primary">regenerate</a> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div>

Something is wrong with it!

API-Key div-error in de:r by Helmut_pdorfHelmut_pdorf, 05 May 2014 10:54

Skill with a choice can be beneficial if you are wedged outside. Lock interception is necessary to use.

I wrote in german "Hier sollten Sie nicht daran vorbei!"
